Year of Winter is an experimental narrative drama about the first year of one young woman's recovery from the sudden loss of her husband; using improvisation as form and surrealism as style, this feature-length movie explores grief and mourning in Southern California.

This movie is unique because the dialogue and the music are completely improvised. The free-form acting style paired with the creative nonfiction approach supports the honest and empathetic portrayal of a specific experience that is felt by many.
